Well OK, I know it rained all the way to the crest..... Today was warm,64 degrees in town with no wind... Went out to lunch at Kit Carson pass, wanted to X country because I figured the conditions would suck, but would be fun to get my Girlfriend in the backcountry..The snow looked surprisingly good and if you find a sunny aspect the corn harvesting would be prime. I wished I had brought my split! Seen all kinds of folks gettin after it, saw a few of goofy snowshoers, then realized I was skiing and had a laugh ... Probed around and there is a solid 4 feet

Rode phouse today. Top was great, it got a little scratchier lower down but still fun. No damage to the board or body but there are still lots of rocks and stuff. I think there was about 170 cms up top in an especially deep spot.

I am sure the top of Tallac is great but the bottom would seem questionable but prolly doable if you're in to that sort of thing.

nat and i were out there the last two days. ice box there at the lake on friday. nat almost turned into a popsickle after a run down the bowl
the north winds were moving snow to se aspects so yesterday, after running into breadbox and friend Aaron, we got 2 laps on that aspect, saw dishwasher dave's crews tracks from the day before.

nice soft snow, 8-16" depending on location, scraping down to the ice, but still fun and great for early season. the jeep trail run was really fun too. :thatrocks:

aksltxlt, where did you go?
Money snow Sunday was in the Carson Pass / Luther Pass area on North and east tree sheltered aspects below 10k.
Far superior to the stuff we rode Saturday on Red Lake with Darren and Natty.
We lapped it 4x, 7:30a-3p, wind wasn't an issue except for when we were fully ridge exposed up top.
Didn't hit icy layer below but had to watch for terrain features and submarines.
