I'm making a return trip to Cham this spring, March 23 - April 6 with 3 other guys (all skiers). We're staying at the Ski Station hostel the whole time but might make a side trip to Zermatt. We have booked 4-5 days with a local guide that we skied with on our last trip but hope to do a few moderate tours on our own weather/conditions permitting. It would be great to hook up with a local splitter with some knowledge of the area so as to reduce the chances of killing ourselves. Let me know if you're interested.
Hey Matt I would be keen to hook up for a couple of runs - I will be in Les Contamines from 5th til 26th Jan - usually ride around there - never ventured over the other side of the ridge to Cham! Newish to splitting only done 3 days on it last yr, non-kook tho, let me know if you want to talk more. Tom
Hi Matt, How are ya? Looks like the snow keeps dumping over there in Cham. Im a splitboarder from Alaska. I will actually be flying into Geneva and coming to Chamonix on this coming Tuesday, December 18th for a week. I actually dont have a place to stay yet, but plan on getting out in the mountains every day. I have not been there before, but have my splitboard gear, crevasse gear, crampons, axe, etc. basically everything to play in the big mountains. I will be able to check my email when I have wifi and also will have a cell with me. If your around, get back to me in the next day and provide your contact details if you like. Maybe we can go shred! email: ak_steez@yahoo.com uk cell: 07968 33 1697
Hope you had a fun new year! I'm in cham for a few weeks and really want to meet some splitters. I'm a very experienced snowboarder, been splitting a fair bit, though just snapped my old board so having fun with a new setup! but don't know the area at all which makes being adventurous tricky, especially in early jan snow conditions!
Any chance you have time to head out either before the 8th or after the 10th?
