In designing our splits we might have a possible solution to snow build up on the top of the skis during ascents. I have a poll question to get your opinion on how big of a problem it is? Thank you in advance for your help! How do you deal with snow build up on top of your skis?

I wax my topsheet. Works for me most of the time.

I've sourced out another superhydrophobic compound which should be showing up in a few weeks, which I'm going to try and apply to my topsheet.

These topsheets should be more durable

Snow building up on the top sheet can add considerable amounts of weight in certain snow conditions.

This is why I had Prior apply a P-Tex Topsheet onto my new board instead of a standart top sheet.

Haven't had a chance to test it yet, look forward to it.

I think it can be a simple as a single layer of carbon fibre as a topsheet. I've found that bare carbon fibre with a peelply finish is very hydrophobic.

Not so sure that was a good move on your part. The older Venture boards had a p-tex topsheet, and snow sticks pretty good to it, which I'm guessing is why they don't build them like that anymore. Waxing it does help, but it still sticks more than the topsheet of my Never Summer.

Snow build up can be a huge suck fest! Something that's pretty obvious but some might forget about is keeping your board cold. Pull it from a warm house or car the warmth from the board melts the snow and then freezes, start right off with snow and ice!
