Newb here. I am looking for a first split. Something used and not too expensive. I live in VT, have only boarded for two years. I'm 5'10' 150 lbs and have been riding a 155cm Icon board for no other reason than I picked it up at a swap. I don't know if it is the right size but it works.. I have been doing some beginner back country on tele skis but always think I could do this better(and more fun on a snowboard).
So to the point. After watching for months I finally saw some craigslist postings in my area. Would either of these be good?
A) voile mojo year 2011: 161cm, is this too long? B) Burton Custom X (DIY) 156cm. Is this too much of an expert board? is the fact it is split solid soften it up?

I'd be leary of the DIY burton, the center inserts can be an issue if they got too hot in the cutting; even if they look ok there can be sealing problems allowing moisture into the core. At 5'10" I don't think the 161 will be too much board for you; shouldn't take much to get used to the difference.
