Mt. Hood Meadows has created this page in an effort to inform backcountry skiers and snowboarders of current Avalanche Reduction efforts within the Meadows permit boundary. Meadows uses remote delivery systems, including Artillery, for avalanche reduction. This work may be in progress at any time within the permit area. Information about current avalanche control work can be found on this web page, as well as by phone at (503) 337.2222 ext. 1705.

Here at our poo-dunk hill, AZ snowbowl leases the land for use during winter months from the forest circus (our land). I try and keep a good relationship with all the employees up there many of the guys that patrol the resort are part of the wilderness search and rescue team. If i broke a leg these guys would b-line it to come and find me (even with my shady politics). Some at the resort can have a pretty arogant attitude (toward splitboarders especially). Most guys are cool and will give you a heads up about avy control and the present conditions.
I am headed out to do some night laps at brighton tonight... I have only been doing this for a feew years but I seldom see other people up there skinning (let alone a splitboarder ) mostly people training for this... http://wasatchpowderkeg.com/

Had a nice experience at Solitude a couple weeks back.
Me: Hi do you guys sell single lift rides? Teller: No, sorry. Just full day today. Me: Ok, can I park in your lot and hike out of bounds? Teller: Sure, that's perfectly fine. If you're on a run just stay to the side. Me: Great thanks
