Recently we have had some beautiful weather in Oregon. On 11/25 sb.com members chronicracing, NWboarder, the homie Drew and myself hiked up to Illumination Saddle on Mt. hood.

Safety meeting.

On 11/26 Drew and I hiked out to the SE Bowl of Three Finger Jack. The cloud level hung around 5000 ft. all day making for some top notch views once we gained elevation.

I like signs.

Nice dude! Coverage in Jack proper is looking good. Did you peek over the saddle to the east into the SE bowl on Jack (another couple hundred yards from where you are pictured with the finger)? It's a good ride with twice the vertical as the south bowl and you can hit the south bowl on the out (which looks like what you rode), but it requires a hike/skin to get back to the top....a tough one to do in a day trip this time of year.....way to get after it.

Sweet! It was a gorgeous day on the 25`th to be sure. I was hating life to be stuck at work and not splitting. I have done that Illumination saddle hike many times when I didn't feel like Crater Rock or a full summit; its such a great hike!. I am super intrigued by Three Finger Jack! I had no idea there was such great terrain. What is the best highway access point to get the goods?

Matt, we did not get over to check out the SE bowl based on what you say. When we gained the top of the south bowl we were close to our pre-determined turn around time so we just enjoyed the views while we could. What a great tour though! Mt. Washington was looking very tasty :doobie:
