The forecast is probably straight, but getting to those elevations and riding something within reason (e.g. below 25 degrees given faceting/hoar frost over the weekend) is far fetched for big pow. A bit of rain and an avalanche cycle at higher elevations, on the other hand, is what we need...

It was real. Predicted storm totals of 80-108". Snowpack was deep but largely unconsolidated with lots of rocks lurking this early in the season. Timing is key, you want to wait for things to settle for avy stability, but not too long cuz temps and freezing levels come up and turn it all to mush. It was super rad while it lasted!
