was out at kirkwood Monday, after the sunday dumpage. was very disappointed to find it rained on top of all that glorious powder, up to 9K sunday night
i could only tell myself "this will make a great base" so many times.... i hope it turns cold soon.

Kirkwood got 12-24" on top before it turned to mixed rain at all levels... It's still a net gain at this point, but, well..... Maybe it'll get down into the weak layers and freeze up nicely, helping the overall stability? Maybe? I keep hoping...
Be carefull out there. A lot of weight sitting on top of an atypical Sierra snowpack...

Was playing at & around Kirkwood again yesterday, Tuesday, and it's wet and heavy with rain having falled on top of the last fresh snow all the way to the top... 9000ft ish... The most recent snow had not stuck well to a lot of the steeper faces, but hopefully this wet stuff coming in will have better luck bonding to those layers..
Good stuff above 9k right now, hit and miss down to 8k, and rain soaked much 7k and below...
