just wondering if any weight-savings freaks out there have taken to drilling/milling out the Spark baseplates for some LightRail type of steez...

would love to see pics of any who have...

i just wanted to bump this thread - i know someone else has to have done this.... mostly just curious about snow and icing in the holes....

Got a 2012 model Blaze real cheap, but I like the idea of the newer Blazes and was curious if the holes also helped the base beeing less slippery. Anyone using thethe 2013 model with some feedback?

YES! beautiful. hows the icing with those - doesn't look like it'd really be an issue with that size hole... i'm thinking of doing something like that with some larger holes in addition to the smaller ones.

those look great tho.

You said you did this two years ago - how have these held up over time? Any issues?
Do you happen to have a .pdf of the hole pattern you used to do the drilling?

i haven't pulled the trigger on the drill-press switch yet - i too have been wondering about how i would do layout.... i was thinking of doing two different sizes of holes too..

did you use a step-drill bit?
