Hey there gentlemen.

I am still knockin off a few scrambles before the snow shores up, on vacation a couple of weeks in November, then looking to start slaying the last weekend of November.

Anyone up for a Wapta trip Wednesday Dec 12th to 16th?

Got a room for the splitfest as well, no roomie as of yet.

Dave,

It certainly has filled in and was good from last Wednesday (my first time out) to Sunday. At the end of the day Sunday the wind started to pick up in a big way and there was big effect noticable on the ski out. I was concerned about slab formation as we went in yesterday and after we got into the cirque the wind loading was obvious. We chose an ascent route lookers left up into the cirque and noticed a 30-40 cm slab sitting on top of a 1cm crust in the upper bowl. This was verified by the MCR email that was published yesterday by a guide that was in a group of 3 skiers that was out at the same time as our group.

Any updates on how K-Country? Seems like a lot of snow has come in in the past 2 weeks. I have a surgery on the 25th which is gonna put me out for 3-4 weeks. Interested in getting out one more time before.

I was at Ptarmigan Cirque last weekend. Snow was pretty good, Very few rocks sticking through. You can ride rite down the the road now.

Should be better now as there has been a fair bit of snow.

Very unlikely that I will be out this weekend.

Probably head out this weekend. Have yet to go up the Smith Dorian, but Highwaood is still open for 2 more weekends.

Might be able to head out sunday. I need another person coming down from Edmonton first, the drive is a bit too sketchy after a day of skinning. We'll see.
