Its not snurfing, Its not splitting, Its not boarding... Its...... well its skiing

Boarder for life and all (20 years this season)! But I have to confess....I have occasionally taken to the demon two planks. Spices up the season a bit to occasionally switch gears. I am not really that good, but I like the challenge of something new. Maybe I'll try tele in a few years.

Please don't kick me off the island.

Nothings wrong with skiing. Its what got you here. First person to slide down a hill on snow did it to get around. They were wearing shoes so Im guessing they automatically figured you needed two things on your feet to get down the hill

But, I do think its cooler than shit when I watch guys like Wysplit ponder over which gear to take into the BC on any given day

Getting on different gear to get that rush of "conquering the learning curve" is good for the ego and the soul.

splitboarding addresses the reason I took up tele over alpine skiing in '86, ease of backcountry access.

People see me harbooting w/poles and say "you might as well just ski"; this confirms them to be imposter snow worshipers that don't have the experience or understanding to grasp the practicality of using the best parts of all genres of snow travel.
I still ski rarely but my heart belongs to that single line arcing through the snow.

nothing, I just prefer snowboarding, i love both and just want to give one of them the dedication it deserves. thats why I dont ski

Thanks for the history lesson. Geesh I was just rattling their chain.
A few more contributions to boarding are; used to harrass, punch, run over, intimidate and make false acusations to patrollers about boarders to get us kicked off the hill. Oh and there was that weird ski ballet shit

I have some skier friends, they rip and it's cool....but for the most part skiing's like rollerblading...just gay
