Just a few days ago we were doing this at tahoeImage

Yesterday things changed a little. A large early winter stom dropped 3-4 ft of early winter fun. We 4wheeled a ways until we could go no further

After a couple miles of skiing we were greeted with this

With the day getting long we to got to the top of the snowfield around 3pm and had some sweet turns in about 2 ft of pow and then from the bottom of the bowl we still had nice turns back to the car

The sun set on the first day of the year for us with hopefully many more to come

Looks fun. Funny, I was in Havasu wakeboarding. 90 degrees. hadnt even checked the weather. Came home to wet ground and thought I had a broken sprinkler. I better start paying more attention

Tease. I got 1 day of riding in, pretty good, really. Today, after a quick trip to Sac where it was about 80, I went paddling on the Lake. Only in Tahoe can you be wearing nothing but boardshorts, walking barefoot over snow to put your board in the water, just a few days after a 3' dump.

That's way cool, I was driving through the valley that morning thinking that there would probably be good snow up there, but what a long hike in and out. I saw a few cars parked at the turn out. Then I saw the tire tracks on that FS road and I thought to myself 'f-ing genius'.

I ended up hiking up on the pass, rode a few laps in East Bowl, nice day to be out, good snow, sunshine, no wind.

You were right the genius' got in about half a mile before we had to use our avy shovels just to get the jeep unstuck and turned around. The Polarius made many runs by us on the skin up the road. I put out my thumb to try and hitch a ride but no takers. Next time i'm flashing a 20. It was about 1 and a half miles in but it was well worth it. Perfect weather, plenty of coverage and nice turns before the slog back to the car. Some how we had just enough traction and luck to get back to 88. I'm already checking craigslist for The Polarius.
