Rae Glacier is no longer a secret spot for early season skiing/boarding, so I thought I’d share some early season stoke:
I had never been up there before, but I ended up doing back to back days (Oct. 27/28, 2012): the first day with the Alpine Club and the second with 3 guys from Splitboard.com.

Conditions were great up on the glacier, but let's just say you earned your turns both on the climb and on the exit:
We were able to skin right from the parking lot, and I was able to ski down to the lake, but there were lots of rocks on the trail, so lots of people walked certain sections.
For splitters: on the exit, it's possible to ride in board mode from the top of the hill just after the lake if the trail is hard packed. Unless you have great wax, you'll need to keep your poles out to help you across some short flat sections, but a few pushes and you're gliding again.
