I'm planning on motivating a group to go up and do a 2 nighter up there (in yost basin) this winter. You'll definitely be notified
Please tell me I get to be one of group (we could all stay at my place the night before getting safe & hydrated, heh-heh). I just bought a new overnight touring bag and my Solution is on backorder but I am hoping for a speedy delivery.

Wow, crazy news about June! 2 nighter sounds like a great plan! Let me know for sure. Last season was just too much of a bummer and I never got going. That's gotta change this season! Hope all is good!

Ack, I'm sorry for your loss. You might maybe console yourselves in this dark time with all of your other October-tourable mountains? Our east-coast mountains have something of a fear of heights...

...and that is the very calm to arms I am working on as we speak. Have you ever been? Ten year old articles are telling me it's the best kept secret in the east, so I'm wanting to get on them before they become any more worst kept secrets... I want to believe...
In the east, we cope with our extensive off-season via therapeutic planning... or at least I do, and some even tolerate me. Sweet people.

Not to totally threadjack, but I'm originally an east coaster and still get back to ride with my brother once a season. I've ridden all over the east, but I have not ridden the Chocs.
I've read the same articles and herd the same. Rightsider here took a trip last year.
I don't think you need to worry about the secret - it is so far out of the way, it's an adventure to just to get there. Time and money allowing, it will happen one of these seasons.
