Funny Mike. I do like the Lee Vining angle. There is plenty of camping spots, a wee bit of rideable terrain, hot springs and if you want a hotel they have a couple of small ones. Not much eats but we can do our own .

Ummmm....Lee Vining + corn season = MO MART!
As someone who has difficulty committing to anything snow related more than a couple days out, and who would likely be camping no matter where this may be held, my opinion doesn't really matter here. But this is just as good a spot as any, so long as the motels aren't booked with fishermen. Tons of terrain within a reasonable drive, a bit closer to Reno airport. Corn season might be good with the Donner Split Party taking place during winter.

Not memorial weekend of course, but would people come the weekend after memorial day? Tough call. Then you are getting late....if its a very lean year. But, it would be nice to have the saddlebag shuttle option too.

I rather enjoy that area earlier in the season and before 120 opens. Less folks, plateau lines are in better conditions and more options for stuff like wood, gibbs, etc.
a full blown event is always cool, but even a "get together" works for us.
