the "vintage" raichle "snowboarder" (white/colored) or the newer "121" (blue or black) are popular because you can get this boot really cheap on ebay.
I have a pair of them (bought them for a handful of bucks), it's a nice alternative to use them in hard/icy spring conditions.
during the ascent in hardboots I feel more comfortable and save on traversing, but riding in hardboots isn't that what I love. so I prefer as often as it's possible and save too my favorite setup (burton si).
