Hahaha I DO NOT own all of those. Don't actually want to either... amazing I know!

I finally laid my tired out 2008 (?) Driver Xs to rest, in the trash, before I left California this past summer. It was a sad moment. I started splitting in those and really loved those boots after my foot stopped going numb.

Only riding hardboots wasn't going to do . So I set out to try on as many boots as I could. Being back East and not in a ski town or near one I used Backcountry.com.

I like the K2s but after about 10 days they are already too floppy for me and on about day 20 I started wrapping the laces fully around my ankle. That actually helps quite a bit but the material is just breaking down and the sole is starting to detach.

K2 Warranties all boots from sole delamination for 1 year so I'll have to take that up with them or I guess backcountry.com

I was digging on the Talon. Couldn't remember the name of the boot on an earlier thread. Very light. Maybe lighter than the Insano which is saying something. The Vibram sole had me very interested. The stiffness of the boot is the main concern and how much it'll break down with use. Definitely a boot I may pick up next year.

These look nice but muitpeice soles never seem to last. 90% of its for looks.

just got the new K2's! Out of the box Im pretty stoked, they fit and feel like my solomon synapes... The single drawsting snugs up the fit nice, but if that breaks it looks like it would be a bitch to fix (re-thread)

Anyone planning on picking up a pair of these Flow Talons?

Hi, I have several pairs of the Fitwell Backcountry boot in 275 and 280, these are moderate flex but a great touring boot and super rugged but yet weight is good. Also have some Deeluxe Sparks too incl 270 and 275 so right in your size range. Happy to sell offshore. I ride both boots and both have their strengths, the Deeluxe is stiffer and a tad warmer, the Fitwell is way way more durable (built like a real mountaineering boot) and totally typical Italian quality and is a better touring snowboard/mountaineer boot. Hope no-one minds me listing on here, keen to help out!

Ditto! 4 days out so far this season and new boots are in order. After all new TNF Pro-Shell outerwear I was hoping to get away with old boots but no can do. Unless someone chimes in on these it'll be new Malamutes for me as I've had great success with Salomons.

I picked up last years Deeluxe Spark, despite the critiques. Boots are fabulous on the up and down!
If you get the right size, they are no longer than other boots. Here's the trick: Find your foot length in cm.(Measure it!)and size the boot that way. My old boots were always tens, in these they are an 9.5. Same length as my old boots, and once heat-molded fit great.

Only lame feature of the Insanos appears to be the tread (some kind of foam?) This may not last on the volcano ridge hikes i do. I,ve got size 11.5 and they seem lower profile than my old drivers but i didn't bust out the tape. I ordered some deluxe sparks but didn't like the speed lace system or the boot print (which is only an issue for big foot dudes). Sparks tread looks great for all day hikes and the moldable liners might have taken care of the lacing issue for me, but their gone now.

Picked up some '13 Malamutes today 20% off. They seem nice. Though I was so into my F22's I'm a bit nervous to step into a new boot. But it's nice to wear something not packed out and floppy! Time will tell if they prove themselves.
