No need to title this annual thread "SW Montana" anymore since nobody posts anything except for what's going on around Bozeman (no offense, Dave). So, if you want to talk about Missoula or Helena, or wherever here, no worries but for the most part it will probably just be the same four people discussing the Bridger, Gallatin, Madison, and Absaroka ranges.

Hahaha, I posted a few things from the Beartooths last year!
Yes you did and I expect you will again this year too. SW Montana is just such a MASSIVE area that it seemed to me a Bozeman thread - aka Tobacco Roots, Madison, Gallatin, Bridger, Absaroka, Beartooth, and Crazy Ranges was a better name.
I'm down for early morning missions this winter, Nick so let's actually ride together this year.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about your move. I do believe that's where a special lady is living though, yeah? Perhaps a Northern Ab/tooth meetup is in order?

That is correct Sam. I'm also doing the nursing school thing out here.
I'm sure I'll still be in Bozeman many weekends this season. Though I have met some splitters with sleds around here and the Chief Joseph/sled in 20 mi to Cooke is less time consuming and accessess amazing terrain.
What do you think of the new Woody Creek Cabin for a potential splitfest?

First I've heard of it, but it looks like it's going to be a great place. I've not made use of any of the for-pay huts anywhere in SW Montana (have spent a week at a place up in B.C. in '03 though).
Woody Creek certainly looks like it has some nice terrain and the price is definitely right.

i am really hoping to ride with some of you dudes this year. I have so few local touring partners (like 1... ) that I always have to play things ultra-conservative when solo.
I have to sit out until mid-Feb this year (new ACL!), so I must put in my 2 cents about having the splitfest after mid-Feb! I kinda assume that you would normally wait until then anyways, in a regular snow year.
I have a hard time containing my excitement about the thought of attending a splitfest.

Would be awesome if splitfest happened, especially if it was in Cooke! I was so bummed about last year, was looking forward to meeting more split boarders. Hope it can happen this year!!! Nick, its exciting to have more splitters down here in billings. I think you know one of my friends simon. Going to have a 'Further' party as soon as my copy gets here (so excited)!!! Your more than welcome if your not studying for an exam.
