So, after getting laid off in Norcal, I made the trek back east. To NC. Riding is hard enough here, forget about BC. So, Now that I'm back here for a while, missin Tahoe and the cascades, what's there to get into on this side? I need some help. Please!

Thats an easy one. You need to go to the " Outer Banks". Nags head to be exact. beautiful hollow screaming Atlantic Barrels. You better hurry though you need to have your skills polished cause your gonna get some BIGGGG hurricane swells.
Dont think of it as being banished to no mans land. You have a great opportunity in front of you.

Yup, TEX hit that one on the head. Really good surfing in NC. And the water doesn't get too cold, so surfing all winter isn't difficult. Sept-May is the most consistent. Especially Nov-March.
If you're too far from the ocean, I'm sure there is great mountain biking. Lots of mountains and hills in NC.
I grew up in MA and used surfing as my escape from not being able to snowboard all the time. Then I moved to VT for school (read, snowboard more). I never left VT after school and driving 4 hours to surf isn't ideal. Now mountain biking is my off season hobby. Riding technical single track is very similar to splitboarding, at least on the east coast. Your working hard on the way up and cruising though tight trees on the way down.
