I'm trying to talk the boss and the misses into a 4 day work week for the winter. Been riding the mountain bike. But still put on 10 pounds this summer. Nothing like the skin track to trim down the love handles! Jealous of you fellas that take the whole season off and hit the road in those bad ass rigs!

Rad! You should write a book on professional dirt-bagging. I would buy it.

Since 1/1/12 I've logged a thousand some odd miles and 241,965' of ascent while mountain running. Despite these efforts I'm still rocking the beer belt and feeling old and feeble at the tender age of 47. I'm going to take advantage of a season pass to Snowbasin to build early season snurf base on fake snow and try not to piss off their enforcers (er' patrollers)

Unfortunately this "off season" has been my worst in years... Most of my time has been sitting behind a desk, or sitting on the couch drinking beer while unwinding after too much time sitting behind a desk... Okay, a little beach volleyball here and there, but nothing like years past... Bone chips in the elbow can be a nuisance, but they won't affect boarding this winter!
Going to spend the next two months trying to undue what the last 4+ months of slacking did to me...
So, my prep? Um, first, watching this season's Ski/Board flicks to get me stoked. Further tomorrow night will be a good start... Spend some time tuning and waxing the boards and get my gear sorted for the season, always fires me up...
Once sufficiently stoked, time to restart the pre-dawn routine of a hike or boot-camp before work 3+ days a week, and at least one good hike on the weekend if I'm not playing volleyball at the beach. Evening, more beach volleyball under the lights, weather permitting. The jumps, squats, and instability of the sand seem to do well for my legs in the steeps. Doesn't give me the cardio, but gives me everything else I need to keep my crap together on the way down anything... Cardio is over rated anyway, I'm an anaerobic beast...
And I like the couple "split rigs" in process.... I need to get my '95 Jimmy in working shape to be my winter ride again... Starter/Ignition relay or something just went out on it. Add that to the "getting ready" list of things to do....
