The locals have spoken and FirstLight will be putting on the first Splitfest in Australia.
When: Sept 2012
Where: Main Range NSW

We its pretty safe to assume everyone had a great time at splitfest. Big ups to Adam for putting it on and thanks to all the sponsors that showed up.
The crew I was with managed to summit little twynam which was a big effort for us considering 3 of the 4 had never ridden a split before.
Here are a few pics I took.
Ps. I know hugh took some mad shots at island bend last night around the camp fire, if you are reading mate post them up.

Today a few crew summited tate, unfortunately I had to drop off half way due to blisters wrecking my life but the run down was amazing even from half way.

Great pics,great weekend.Very well organized.
Snowing at Island bend when i arrived to set up camp on Friday.The locals were taking shelter.

On Saturday i hiked with Scott and Bill.

It was a pleasure to meet everyone and i look forward to 2013.

Some info on the weekend
Packed the car with every splitboard I could find that wasn't at the shop

We had 40cm of fresh the Friday of the Festival, this set up the weekend for some good new snow.
Had a massive turnout on the Friday night to watch "Free rider 70+ people attended.

After the movie we held the raffle, id like to thank the sponsors
Voile, Spark R&D, K2, Sweetgrass Productions, Powder Whores, Venture Snowboards, G3 and SB.com.
Sorted out the rentals for the weekend and hit the hay at 2am.
Woke to a Blue bird day and headed up to the start point for 8am.

Meet my 6 to do the Splitboard clinic and headed off.
We had knee deep Ozzie POW and did three laps of Guth Trig

I didn't ride Sunday, gave my ankle a rest, but from what I've heard it was as good a day as Sat.
Had a few beers with the gang at Island Bend Sat Night.

Id like to thank all those that turned up for the event and hope next years two festivals will be bigger and better.
