Looking for Scarpa F1 Race boots, I came across this image of a modified Scarpa F1. Looks like this would work well for splitboarding:

Also found a Splitboard.com post by "burton":

While the TLT5 has gained prominence as the splitboard hardboot (glad to see this happen). The Scarpa F1 is a viable hardboot and can often be found for a bargain!

I run the F3s. I have done mods on the cuff, walk/ride mode bar, high backs, and removed the booster strap.

Has anyone tried to removing the top buckle completely and move the booster strap into the same position?

So this is a fun one. My F1s, size 26 had a shell weight of 1105g. Removing the top cable buckle, walk mode contraption and the various t-nuts netted me a shell weight of 961g. Mounted a 74g Atomic Micro ski boot buckle to the top cuff for an estimated final weight of 1035g. Scale is telling me 1013g.... Must be the holes in the washers I used. Heh. I think if knock out the 2" metal bar in the back as well I can get the shell down to under a kilo and get some rearward flex out of it as well.

Also, any recommendations on larger diamter rivets that set flat? My hardware store junk mushroom head pretty good.

Weights so far, 1022g without Intuition ProTour Liner, 1306g with liner (per boot). Weight penalties definitely come from the Atomic buckles and mounting hardwear. Removed the rear Dynafit pin thingamajig from the reae heel welt, left the mounting bar (for cuff lock & walk mode mount) in the upper shell for the time being, if I need a bit more rearward flex I can drill out the rivets and pop it out, maybe grind some more plastic. Still have to zip 5mm off the bolts for the cubes. Lost some rearward movement in walk mode given the dimension of the cubes, still loads better flex/movement in walk mode vs Malamutes in Spark Burners. Still the best fitting, comfiest boot I've worn yet, should shred even better now!

Here's the back end.

I think what I'd like to do is scrounge up another ankle buckle/ratchet from an F1 and use that as the top cuff buckle rather than the Atomic ski boot buckle.
