After 21 months of turning in the tahoe area my streak was about to end but not without one last trip. An eight hour trip to be exact. Roundtop Peak at 10,381 always manages to hold some late summer snow! It is just getting there that is the problem We had a nice little basecamp at Winnamuca Lake at 8900 ft + before we climbed strait up to 10,000ft where we were greeted by this
We had a lot of hiking a lot of fun turns and a long day. My crazy italian buddy, Sergio, who I met in the Hard Rock Cafe at Harrahs at 1 in the morning shows me that there is more than one way to stop at 10,000ft
One last look a Red Lakes Peak across the valley and it time to head back and start a new streak

Actually it was a Piper Dakota!! When u have a passion for turns a small patch, a medium sized one or a hugh peak put the same smile on your face. That piper has helped me score rubicon peak, echo lake, carson pass, mammouth, lassen, brians head UT and telluride colo. Funny thing is in that last TR the plane never went higher than 6500ft from the coast where this time i had to hike to 10k+ on my own...jim
