Hi guys,
Although it's summer, here's a little bit of snow stoke. I've just got back from my first trip to the Karakoram in Pakistan (with the splitboard of course). Here's a trip report on my blog:

That sir, was one helluva trip! Awesome photos of insane terrain on some BIG Mountains. I'd try it again if I were you, but I'm kinda partial to suffering myself too.

Thanks for the link Paul. It was a great reading. The objective is impressive (not on my league by a fair margin) !
I agree with you with the special weather/snow conditions in the Karakoram in spring : the temperature variation and the way the snow conditions change is incredible. It probably doesn't help for sick lines like the ones you aimed.
I'm glad to see that another splitboarder was in the Karakoram. I've heard about another french team with at least one guy with a splitboard there as well but I don't have many info on that.
btw, on the very nice photo where you can see K2, Broad Peak and some of the Gasherbrums, I'm pretty sure the peak identified as G1 is in fact G4 and the G2 is just next to it on the right.

Hey Travelping,
Glad you liked the TR. Two very different types of trips. Yours looked great.
You could well be right regarding the Gasherbrums. I was definitely not as up on the different Gasherbrums as the rest of the group. A rock with snow on it surely

That was a great read and an epic goal! Sorry it didn't work out for you, but you were smart in your decision. Its hard to back down from something like that after all the planning and hard work to even have the opportunity to ride it. Big props

Hey man, thanks for sharing. Remember, anytime you come back from an expedition of this magnitude, in a mountain range as dangerous as the Karakoram, when all the members of the team return healthy, the trip is a success. Most alpinists consider a 50% summit ratio very successful, add trying to ride something, and I would say a 30% ratio is very successful. I am glad you guys made good decisions, and returned safely. I am sure you guys had some very memorable experiences, and when you do decide to return to the great ranges, you will be very well practiced and ready to see what the mountains have in store for you again. Awesome that you went for it!
