Never seen them in person. How are they for durability? Is it just rubber holding the sections together? They fold into an awfully small size, which is perfect.

I just bought mine & haven't had any time with them...i'll have to check when i get home, but i seem to remember that there's cable inside the rubber. My son's used his set this past year & they've held up great. I'll check & get back to you.

I bought a pair of the BD compactor poles at the beginning of this season and put approx. 40 days on them since then. The poles are pretty much bad ass when they are working properly. I enjoyed using them all season, but can say now after some use it proves very difficult to get them to their compact size. So much so that I have started using a different pair of poles I have to avoid the hassle. I have not lost all hope in them but am not sure how to fix the issue...

just climbed the Dana Couloir with them which included tones of talus scrambling and they held up just fine. No bends a few scrapes and perfect balance. I dig em.
