My buddy brian called me up last weekend told me he is taking me up into the mountains to celebrate the day of my birth. It may have been a few days late but it was a welcomed call. The rumor was there would be some fresh snow up high in the mountains and the forecast pointed us to chinook pass. Having never been there, we both were excited to explore a new area, and definitely excited at the chance for fresh snow in June!
We arrived to a slushy lot and light snow, but also HEAVY fog. Not knowing the area, we made our way up to a saddle right out of the top parking lot. Without being able to see anything further, we decided to just make a few quick laps while the snow was good. What we found was glorious! There was 2-3" of fresh wet cascade mash potatoes on a nice corn-ish base. It was fast and incredibly fun. We smashed out 3 laps and called it a day, and shot a little video as well
