Ok, lots of peeps been up to Shasta lately (seems like all of California except me) How the east side road conditions? Can we plan this yet? Again, cant make june 23rd weekend, but any other one is fair game
Brewer is still locked up but only really needs one snow drifted turn to melt out according to beta I got last weekend. FS Ranger Station in Shasta is the best place for the most current info. The climbing advisory from MSAC has road info but its only updated occasionally.

Jbay & Snowvols - Although I just had a hernia surgery I could definitely be talked into picking up that crazy asshole Logan at the airport and driving us to Shasta if the dates are in mid July. I should be healed by then and ready to go, let me know what you think...

This is the attitude I love ha! If it is mid to later July I can go. I am hesitant in signing up for more triathlons since I want to come out to Shasta. Someone just needs to pick.
Weekend shot across to climbers and turns below Red Banks. Carvy turns down to Helen on the new stuff, corn down to 8000, luge out on the trough. Get it now. 5 miles to Brewer but may melt out this week.

Fyi, Hot Tuna is in shitty shape right now and I don't really see how it will ever smooth out this year. Super textured crappy snow on the upper part of ridge. Wintun glacier is smooth though and lower part of Hot Tuna is decent. Sun cups are small still. Brewer Cr 3.5ish miles out. I managed my own route off an unmarked side road and made it to treeline in just over an hour from the car via Brewer Cr gully. The switchback that the road is dead ended on is way off to the north so not really an efficient starting point.
