i finally figured out how to post larger photos. sheesh!
last weekend i was able to hit drainage that i have been meaning to get to all season. I wasnt sure how much snowpack would be here, but all turned out OK. I got an early start, but the sun beat me to it. I always forget how early it gets light this time of year. Stopped after an hour to cook up some breakfast. reached the snow after about 1.5hrs another hour to the saddle- about 800 vert. of bullet proof spring freeze. A fun little area for some smaller length laps. other side of the saddle, unfortunately no longer filled in (well, maybe a sketchy line) 3 fun runs! some pretty views from the top with access to the fun terrain then back out after about 8 hours, to kick up the feet at my mom's house. i've dreamed of drawing a line down that peak in the back, since i was a wee one. oh well, maybe next year!
snow pack is getting a little slim around this elevation. I had about a month longer here last year time to head higher on up!

Nearest Choteau, once again! There are a few roads around Augusta & Choteau that offer some convenient access to some great terrain. Everything tops out around 8,000 - 9,000 here, until you go a ways north.
