I think that the "Carbonium" topsheet also has some snow shedding properties that are pretty beneficial, especially when skinning. I remember hearing that from somebody.
I can't really say that it's better. It's certainly no worse than a standard fiber glass top sheet. It does resist chipping better. Though if you do get a cut in it, it will tear versus chip. Overall, I like it better than fiberglass, but as with anything it has it's quirks.
Post a photo of the base..... NS treated you right; though, no board lasts forever and through every gnarly day on the hill, especially hardcore backcountry.
Would be interesting to see the base, indeed - I'd expect it to be OK, as to me from the pic you posted it looks like you flexed it / landed too heavy back. Which is more rider fault, not the board's
Hooked on the spitboard phenom after touring in some of the Utah backcountry in Feb.
I'm back in my home land of Australia now and want to buy a Never Summer Sl split. Dogfunk and Backcountry.com don't ship Never Summer internationaly so i'd love help finding somewhere that did.
Any help on where i can get one of these split decks would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
If you are still looking a guy i know here in NZ got one from the cornice store an aussie store. i think they were about 1300AUD
