After some initial excitement i took my Mojo out for a day. I'm not sure if its the board or the way i have it setup but the board just felt flat and lifeless. I normally ride a custom x and demoed the previous model split decision so i was very surprised to have the board feel as such considering how many people said there was a big improvident.
Ive got some Burton mission bindings until i can get something better, the bindings are mounted starting at the 6th hole with the rubber spacer if that means anything.
the stance was a little wider then normal but nothing hugely different.
i had no problem bending the board but really got nothing back.
any insight on how i might change the setup to experience the board better would be appreciated.

was skinning up in the woods outside a resort and then skiing down in bounds. i'm gona go out again today but i have a seeking suspicion that it might be the bindings. they are not very ridged and so high off the board without actual risers i think might make for really inefficient transfer. the edge just didnt seem to initiate at all and when it did on a slow arc it just didnt feel right. long drawn out slow turn with no power built up in the turn to snap into the next one.

dubble check to make sure the screws holding the binding to the slider track are tight as well. I had a bit of an issue with the screws coming loose. Also if your bingings are sloppy and your boots are sloppy in the binding that will make the board feel dead as well.

cranking down on everything did help a lot! i think its time for new boots =/ i think stiffer would be better for this.
What size is your Mojo?
I think boots and bingings are almost 90% of snowboarding. I threw down for the Sparks this year and it's made a world of difference. You get a lot more power transfer into the board because they are so much lower.
Last Thursday I was riding and I realized that my old pounded out boots were totally hampering my riding. I just couldn't seem to keep control over my front foot because I needed to crank my straps down so hard that my feet would fall asleep. So this weekend I broke down and bought new boots (much stiffer ones) and yesterday riding and touring all day the problem seemed to be fixed.
That interface to your board is SOO critical...

It's definitely not going to feel like a Custom X. It's a lot stiffer. The old Freeride is actually closer to a typical Burton Custom flex. I had the same feelings when I tried the Mojo. The stiffness has its advantages, but I just prefer the Burton flex for most of the stuff I ride. Other people think the Burton feels like a wet noodle, so YMMV.

you're not alone Zann.
They don't feel lively to me. Great as a short spring/couloir board, but for a pow board, I don't dig them. Can't put my finger on it but it is either just not the right flex (too stiff) or the torsional stiffness doesn't allow for responsive turning.
IMO- Burton = too soft; Mojo= too stiff; Prior = just right.
Having a stiff binding (no plastic baseplate) can help a lot.
