I am new to splitboarding. Looking to move my snowboarding from within the resort to the BC. found this deal on craigslist...
"This is a "Used Once" Prior back country Splitboard Package. To buy all this new today you would spend over $1400

Included: 165 Prior (Carbon) splitboard, Voile Hardware package with extra pins, Voile Skins (cut and ready), Ride EX bindings. "

He's asking $875 but I don't need the bindings so hes okay with $800 for just the board, hardware and skins.

If the board is in good shape I would say go for it.

Seems to be a decent deal. I remember the carbon being an option a few years ago from prior, but I don't think I've seen it offered the last two years. I'm guessing the shape would be something similar to the backcountry model they offer now. I just had a look at you can get a backcountry for around 1100.

So I take it the carbon is super stiff? I am just torn between doing something like this or going with a venture R board. The cost difference is about 3 or 400 more but that potentially is out of my price range.

If its your first board, try to get what you want , and or demo till you see and feel what you want, and or if you got $ dinero burning a whole in your pocket , just buy what you want and sell it back here in a year, and buy a new one then ... I think I remember people saying it was a nice stiff board... For $800 , it should be semi new... Less then 20 days on it at least...

You ll love it and it ll change yer life, for the most of us thats what has happened.. .Happy skinning.

Rockered Venture!!! We have several at the shop i work at in Fairplay, High Alpine. Come check em' out! If you have the $$$ just drop it on the venture and be done with it. I had a 68 burton... pretty fun but not even comparable to a rockered storm!!
