I'm sorry I didn't respond to this post earlier. Without boring people with too many details, when Nick got sick at the beginning of the 2012-13 season, we had 10-12 boards that were in a partial state of completion. There were problems with a number of these boards, the capita insert was missing from some of them, some of them hadn't been marked up straight and so hadn't been cut straight by the waterjet and some of them had not been routed evenly by the person we contract to do the routing for the inside edge.

We had to find a capable person to replace Nick, which we did with Kevin, get him up to speed and at the same time fix the problems and fulfill our obligations to the people who's boards we had. This was not an ideal situation because we really needed time to regroup.

After the completion of this first batch of boards, we did regroup and spent time improving our processes. We fixed the inside edge routing problem, we started to use a jig so that we can more accurately mark up the boards, we started using a thickening agent with the epoxy to prevent the Ptex discs from moving once they are set and we started using an actual recycled snowboard Ptex disc material that bonds much better with the epoxy. Since then we have not had a single reported Ptex disc pop out.

If AreJay is dissatisfied with the work we did, can I suggest that he contacts us so that we can provide a full refund.

For the 2013-14 season we are taking on fewer boards so that we can expedite orders and for those on a budget, we are offering a cut only option that will include the Ptex discs and T-nuts necessary to convert a Voile Universal kit, Karakoram and Spark R&D binding for use on a DIY splitboard. We will be using a different waterjet company that has a smaller minimum number of boards and is familiar with the nuances and challenges of cutting a snowboard.

I hope this answers some of the question here on the forum.

Thanks,

James
