First, the good news.

My Solution 163W measures 160.5 cm in length, so well within your desired specs. (Even if you assume they measure the flat ski length before they put it in the press to cure they still only come in at 161.5 cm.)

Now the bad news.

The max waist width is 260 mm. That falls under your threshold.

On a further note, Jones also claims that the board has mild camber between the bindings but mine is totally flat. The new Jones boards may be more carefully constructed, but Jones has a well-deserved reputation of taking liberties with the board's stated specs. I can't find a single published value that actually matches my board dimensions. If other guys want to measure their 163W sleds I would be interested to hear if the new ones are assembled by less stoned homies. Every other split I have owned was pretty much spot-on with the published numbers. Otherwise why would they even give numbers to the millimeter?? The Solution rides ok, but in the future I think I'd give my money to a gives-a-fuck outfit.

Sorta. I have less hyper-specific needs though. I like trying different things and letting my horizons get expanded. I am frequently skeptical about products but I will try them and give them a 20+ day workout before coming to any conclusions. I try to be as objective as possible and let the piece of gear prove itself. I have spent many days with different bindings on my board (for instance one Karakoram Split30 and one Spark Burner on the same board) for a true side-by-side comparison. Sometimes I will head out with two different skins (e.g., a G3 on the left ski and a BD on the right). I am a scientist by profession so I feel this is the only [easily applied] objective way to 'test' gear. (A true test would be to have no idea what gear you had on your feet, but this is hard to do for obvious reasons.) I rotate through my quiver each day out so that they all get roughly equal time in most conditions. Then at the end of the season I sell my least fave and pick up something new to add to the rotation.

I like wide boards too. 260-270 mm is good. Lengths should be 160-165 cm. I like some taper if possible. Beyond that I am open-minded. I've played with toys long enough to know that my tastes evolve over time. Sure, avoid stuff you know you hate. But why limit your own evolution?

OZ Snowboards makes a 161 split with stated waist of 26.3.

Never heard of them, but I'll scope it out. That's why I started this thread.

I would still consider the 27cm waist Venture Zephyr 165.

Due to its tip and tail rocker the Zephyr turns easily.
However you do already know that you like the Hovercraft, get a Hovercraft Split. (if you can still get one)

As mentioned it's too long for preference.
There are at least four options within my very specific requirements, so I don't need to sacrifice outside of what I want.

However,
I do wish Venture made that board in a 27 waist 159-163 length. Surely it's a preferred brand.

Have you measured the waist on your Hovercraft? I'm always curious about the Jones specs.

To the OP, I'm doubtful that you will ever find a splitboard that meets your specs but goddamn, I have to give you props! You must have broken the SB.com records for:

Least willing to do one's own research (you hadn't heard of Trapper or Chimera snowboards until 5 pages into this thread? There are links to both companies' websites all over this forum)

I did on my solid 160 Hovercraft -- Waist indeed is 264mm.

Actually chief, As mentioned there are Four that fit my specs. Turns out the Trapper and Chimera boards are slightly too narrow for my requirements, but after I heard they even existed, I then did my own research. I don't read banner ads and billboards. I ask people for their help and input. Sorry if you don't like it.
I would have never looked at them had I not asked for other options.

I am only going to buy ONE board. so, to have four options to chose from without compromising is pretty good.


Anyways, goddamn man. If Magne-traction and F-ed up rocker/camber profiles were just so damn important to slide on snow, why is the ski marketplace not flooded with this crap?

I don't boot-out on this board. Perhaps I mentioned that before. That's why I require a wide board.

The Ride is 26.2.... I boot-out slightly but don't lose edge. The Hovercraft is 26.4 I don't boot out.

That's a difference of .2
