Weston Snowboards - Beetle Kill

Just spreading the word on another Colorado startup. These guys are using a combo beetle kill pine/poplar core. :thumpsup:

Sounds like they will have splits soon - "- We have an incredible splitty. Rocker under front foot, camber under back. Beetle kill pine and poplar core, maple top sheet. You're gonna love it!"

Hopefully they will make some longer sticks too. Currently topping out at 161. :scratch:

Curious if they have a process for killing larvae. A friend got his "home" remodeled with beetle kill and he said he could hear the beetles eating when things were especially quiet.

Yeah could be that too. He said it kept him up at night. Bed posts were made out of the beetle kill.

I used to work for a log furniture company in CO, and beetle kill pine made for some beautiful furniture. Not sure if I'd want pine as part of my core, but maybe they found a way to make it work.
