Hello, So I am wondering if anyone has some advice or input on what length is appropriate for the Never Summer SL split for me; either the 161 or the 163. I weigh about 150 pounds, obviously there will be additional weight from a pack and the gear that goes along with it when touring, and I have a size 11.5 boot. I was at first concerned that the waist on the 161 will be to narrow but I'm thinking that shouldn't be a problem. The waist is 25.8 cm would should be enough to cover a 11.5 size boot but I am not too sure. The 163 is more than wide enough with 26.3 cm so that is not a concern. I am used to riding a Never Summer Heritage X in a 159 which feels great and I'm not too sure how much of a difference 2 or 4cm is going to make
Would going for the 161 be large enough to compensate for the added touring weight or should I go for the 163 both for the added float as well as for the width to avoid any heal or toe drag?

I bet you will be ok on the 161 depending on your stance angles and boot sole length. That said, I ride a 163 SL with size 10 boots and I'm 6'2" 175#. I don't think its too wide.
Thanks for the input. Yea I hope you're right about the 161 being wide enough, it seems like its the size I should be going with considering my weight and height. The 163 sounds like it'll be too big for me. So looks like I'll probably be grabbing the 161 SL

with size 11.5 you need a wide board. As someone who rides a 165, 173, 185 all on the same day obsessing over 2 cm of overall length is... well, obsessive. Your gonna notice a 1/2cm of width on toe drag waaay more than 2 cm of length in maneuverability/float, worth a few ounces of touring weight.
Thats what I was thinking originally, its not worth risking get a board thats too narrow. You're right 2cm is nothing, i'll stop obsessing. The 163 makes more sense in the end.
