I read somehwere NS just wanted recognition for being first...

i was just surprised by all the variations of r/c that are coming out. NS is rocker between binders and camber out is a lot like Lib Tech's. At SIA I saw rocker between and flat outside. This one is flat between and camber outside. They all claim to have very different and original tech so it just strikes me as funny. The camber wars have begun in full force. I really like my T Rice board and i think the tech works great on certain models. On other models like the Attack Banana it doesn't work at all for me.

The flat between the binders makes sense for skinning though. I really would like to demo it. Obviously camber between works great for skinning. Haven't tried any other profiles though.

Nobody seem to notice that they are building them with P-Tex sidewalls. This is a much bigger deal than all the rocker/camber mumbo-jumbo...

a lot of companies are doing that now but they're not making a big deal out of it. it's hard to get your average weekend warrior stoked on sidewall material.

What do you mean by a lot? It is a big deal, especially coming from cap construction Mojo's. And people don't get excited about it until they blow out an ABS or Cap sidewall, then they post here and cry about it.

You guys are just so enamored by these "new" "shiny" "must have" inventions that you miss the fact that a snowboard is about the shape, ingredients and construction.

How did we ever ride without rocker? Oh yeh, that's right its easy!

That may well be for a different thread - but why didn't the profile work on Attack Banana for you while you like the TRice?

I am very interested, because I am thinking about picking the Attack Banana for all my non-split riding: resort ice and steeps, parks, "2 inches of powder" days, and slackcountry. It will be replacing a flat / rocker K2 Turbo Dream (great fun board, just not wide enough for me and I want better edge hold, as well as a tad more softness)

So far, I only saw good reviews for the Attack Banana...

I hated it but they are two very different boards in terms of construction, waist width, and profile. The AB felt like a crap everywhere, whereas the my Rice is a stable do-everything board. Probably more of a personal preference/riding style thing.



I don't know, but I think designing a new rocker profile would naturally catch more ppl's attention than sidewall construction. It does a lot more than just influence durability and flex.
