My board worked way better than I could have ever imagined. It was like an asault weapon on the groomers and a magic carpet in the pow, more pop than any board Ive ever ridden before, who would have thought pine would work so well as a core material . I couldnt be happier. I am already drawing up some new shapes for next season.
Hey Cass, Materials cost for making boards is real misleading, Main thing is lots of other stuff, press/vacuum system, heat system to cure the resin, core profiling to build to make boards and plenty of tools used. Also materials cost a lot because you buy more than for one board generally and shipping, etc. You either have to make em because you want to make something no one else does or you just love the process. Making a board esp. your first few will probably cost a lot more than a split in March or April.

This is very true. I built my own because I dreamed of something that wasnt available and luckily the results were incredible straight away. I did however build 4 boards exactly the same (and 1 split) but with different core thickness so I could get a feel for what works best for me. I ended up liking the thickest one best cause I like to bomb the shit out of the mountain. Now I have done my research and built/bought all my tooling I can build a board quite cheaply

I like them stiff I ride the thickest one, I sold the second thickest one and I have the other 2 standing in the corner looking pretty. The split is 0.5mm thicker than the thickest solid and they have very similar flex
