I've never had a splitboard before, so I am trying to get my first split and other gear needed to go to the backcountry. I don't have enough money to buy a new split, so I've been trying to get a used one on craigslist. I found this one http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/spo/2864010570.html that I am thinking of buying. Do you guys have any advice what to check for to make sure that it's worth it's value? It doesn't come with bindings or skins.

Depends.

The Burton interface is not worth trying to fix if its failing. Can't tell in the photos I saw but the pins on the interface go into the touring bracket and with enough use the metal by the pins will fail and the binding side of the interface will no longer stay connected to the board. Took me 2 years to kill mine.

That said those old Burton factory splits (though not cutting edge) are durable and ride just fine for most. If the interface is done you could put some other type of interface on it,
Voile being the cheapest option.

The boards are well built but the interface will sooner or later fail.
There are "upgrade options"
$250 if it has skins would be OK
The upgrades are not cheep so lower the price the better.

I have 6 of these that I use as rentals and like I said they are bullet proof.
