Guys I spoke to Voile about this, "We added the "deflector" recently (the small grey piece that sits where the bushing usually would). This is for people who tour with the straight edges on the inside. We added this so that they are less likely to catch the rivet with the tip of their board and damage it"
No sure I'll be fitting this in the future as not many people skin with straights on the inside.

I think i will. I kinda have to i guess, I didnt get the metal rings. Oh well.
But i noticed there is a little tab at the end (bottom) of the plastic part. I guess you just drill a small hole and put it in there to hold it in place?

If they sent you tip clips with the deflector check the mounting sticker for hole placement and the instructions for hole size. I think it's 1/8 hole 1/8 deep but double check that with the instructions.

Guys The kit should come with both options, metal sleeve and the new plastic piece. You will have to choose one way or the other. The mounting sticker has the extra holes shown so you can drill correctly.
