Is Chimera only gonna offer that in a 160 or 168? If that's the case then I'd want the furberg. 160 is too short.
I just got an email from furberg on pre orders and was quoted $750 USD WITH shipping. And before Oct 15th $675!!! That's cheaper than most U.S. boards. I'm sure Chimera won't be giving discounts so saving $250 is making me lean to furberg. I think I'm gonna pull the trigger

Thats a good price. Now I am really torn.
I have an old super stff burton frontier with traditional camber ready to be split in the coming weeks.
But I really love my solid furberg... And would be cool to ride the same split as solid.
My wife says split the burton and try the splitting. If its my thing, buy the furberg. But the snow will not be here before the furberg hits full price

If you got the money just pull the trigger on a furberg split if you really like your solid. There's no reason to compromise in this day and age of splitboards. Get what you want. It's not "if you'll like splitting". Skinning isn't the funnest thing in the world but it's an insanely awesome workout and the rewards far outweigh any negatives. You might be better off learning how to skin on a full camber actually, but I wouldn't sweat it either way. Skinning isn't hard. Just do it a bunch and it gets easier.

I ride the same split as my solid right now and I wouldn't have it any other way. I just want more boards for the quiver!

The reason for not making the 162 as a split is that it has been the length that has sold the least. But if it turns out to be a big interest for a 162 split then will make it

167 furberg split ready for pickup at the postoffice and I`m stuck offshore for atleast 13 more days...

I have done 4 trips with Furberg split 167. About 4000 vertical meters.

No problems when you hike up. Long radius on "skis" (Both sides looks almost the same, weird ) make them very calm. When you have shorter radius skis are more "nervous" when you hike up.

Going down is just awesome. So playful and stabile board. I have ridden hard packed snow, ice, but luckily most just powder . Really fun board in forest.

Can`t wait the next trip!

The splits are sold out now.apparently theyre trying to get a early batch of the 2014 boards.

Just finished making a split of my Freeride 173! apart from a couple of minor imperfections it turned out great! cant wait to try it. Snowdrought go away!!

I have been riding the 167 split for a couple of days here in Arlberg, and its pretty sick! Been charging the slopes (transport runs ofcourse) and it feels just like a solid board. We have also been riding some spines in 40cm powder and its just epic for that! Really happy with it!!

I am finally back home, and after som hardware mounting they are finally togeher. 173 resort and a more allround 167 split.

Did some yo-yo laps in a local forest run yesterday with my DIY 173. foot of semi wet fresh.felt a bit weird on the first run,but i was loving it by the third. its got both a mellow feeling when cruising and it also turns really tight if you want. I had no problems navigating through relatively tight trees.

Also glad it skinned well and didnt fall apart
