so i lost my swallowtail virginity over the weekend and i think i am in love...
had the opportunity to take one of the the new Voile "V-tails" for a spin(thanks voile and snurfer!)
the board was 180cm and i normally ride 161, i was able to skin with the bigger board just fine(including an icy traverse above exposure) and the down was great! I started the run with conservative turns having not ridden that big of board before, but it felt not much bigger than my 161 and was very easy to initiate turns. the board really came into it's own when i was able to open up some high speed turns, it felt so stable and responsive compared to some boards i have been on. the bottom of the run was thick with brush and tight evergreens, once again i was surprised at how easy it was to maneuver in tight spaces. hopefully i will have some more info and reports on the "V-tail" in the following months. Definitely a board worth keeping your eye on and adding to your quiver.
