Does anyone have advice on direct mounting my Mojo 166 with Dynafit toe pieces? How do I locate the mounting holes, how deep do I drill and what size bit should I use?

i did it some years ago : i simply drilled them, making sure that the dynafit toe pieces were something like 2 cm in front of the balance point of the board, to ease turns while skinning. I mounted them with the original dynafits wood screws + glue, which were very close to the base at the end.
It was perfect until it broke : after 1 or 2 seasons, one binding was torn away while i was skinning on a very hard snow. I think the splitboard halves are too wide and thin to support such a mounting (at least my Mojo at that time).
Since then, i use Spark dynafit adapters, which are just perfect (light, solid).

I ride with a direct mount, and experience no problems. Avoiding the Spark Adapters saves 4 ounces. I also like to mount the toe pieces and heel elevators with a few mms. of offset, to account for the straight outer edge of the split ski. See the website:
wildsnow.com for very good Dynafit mounting instructions (search there).
With a good mount, and epoxy for the screws, you should not have any problem with pullout, as long as the board has a good wood core. If you are not familiar with ski mounting, be careful, and do not over torques the screws. I would also recommend purchasing a good ski drill bit, which drills the holes to the perfect depth.
