Should be killer. Can't wait! If it's not plowed, I'm game for car or snow camping. Both have pros and cons.

Here's a map of the area. The yellow line is to the saddlebag campground, the red to a good spot for camping below the greenstone lake chutes, and the green is one of the possible routes to the glacier. I show the distance from the saddlebag road turn off at hwy 120 to greenstone lake at 4 miles and about 700 vert.

sounds cool... I guess Saddlebag Lodge is probably closed but since some friends will be hitting Ellery Bowl and the Dana plateau (or at least that's their theory... at least one is currently dirtbagging it in the Valley) I'd like to suggest that as another possibility for a day trip. Saddlebag looks fun though.

I'd vote for Saddlebag Lake June 10/11/12.

Anyone driving from the Salt Lake area? I've got plenty of room but could use the company, that looks like at least a 10hr drive. I'll check some local BC people I know.

This is an informal gathering…anyone is welcome to come but the organization will probably be a little lacking. Playing it by ear is kinda my mode of operation.

If the weather is good I vote for the snowcamping trip at saddlebag. (requires a 4mile slog to camp)

If the weather isn't good, or folks don't want to snowcamp, there are plenty of day trips and car camping available as well in the area.

I'm making sure I have the days free from work and the family and hoping everything else falls into place.

I'm definitly down for the Saddlebag basecamp, organization be damned. (need an excuse to get a new tent and develop the snow campin skills, anyway). I just asked for Friday off of work, so one way or another, I'll be there for the duration of the weekend. I'll most likely be leavin here Thursday night, car bivying @ LV, then headin up to Saddlebag early Friday mornin.

If the weather's WAY too bad, I'll be bringing the climbin' gear, too, if anyone's interested.

My plan as well. I hope Saddlebag works out though, it's a gorgeous area and the chutes/couloirs look killer. Been reading/hearing about winter decents in the area for years and it's finally coming to fruition.
