Tex, fyi it's pretty thin down low just about everywhere in the S. Sierras right now. I was down there yesterday and ended up going to the mammoth crest cuz everything else looked like shit. That was my first time at the crest and it's actually pretty cool albeit short. Plenty of snow there too. Somewhat wind affected but still good. There are tons of lines and the flats getting back there are offset by the fact you can pole/ride most of it out on the groomed trails. There is snow down there, but you just have to get high

We found the exact same thing as BG suggest and it's also what the folks in Mammoth Mountaineering were saying. Seems Mammoth has gotten the majority of the snow. Although we didn't check out the areas south of Mammoth that you're talking about everything else we spyed was shit. As BG said though, the stuff around the crest was nice.
