I'm looking for splitboarders (and backcountry skiiers) in the area. I just got a place for the next 6 months up in fairplay, will be there most every weekend. Looking for people in the area to show me and a couple friends the terrain! I've got about 8 days of backcountry in (overall), have all the equipment (beacon, probe, splitboard, sparks!). I did an outward bound snowboarding course, did the avy training there, however they don't give you a certification... I'll do that as soon as I have the chance. My friends have no backcountry days in, but have put forth the investment on the gear and are ready to go.

We could use the help and knowledge! Let me know

Alma puts in you range of most of us Front Range splitters. Fortysix&two is in Keystone now, though he used to live in Fairplay. I am sure we can get out. Monarch Pass should be ready to go in a week or two. I drive right through Fairplay on the way there...

I'm very interested. The area around Monarch has always looked good. I talked to some locals who say near hoosier pass and around Alma (bowls near democrat) are good too.

I dislocated my shoulder a couple weeks ago, so I'm out for right now, I just get to scout for places until I can ride again....

I'm interested. I live over hoosier in breck, but Alma isn't that far. I'm new to splitting, but I need a partner.
