I just thought I'd put this vision out there...

Some splitters are gonna spend Memorial weekend camping out in LVNP with the twin goals of having a fun little end-of-season reunion/party and shuttling *assen Peak as many times as humanly possible.

We're thinking of getting some campsites at the Manzanita Lake Campground which is by a beautful lake with swimming and hiking, etc. This isn't a hardcore backcountry experience... just mellow car camping and hanging out. My beautiful wife is coming along, so bring your family and friends so she has someone to hang out with!!

The campsite is off the main park road, which is scheduled to open for Memorial Weekend. We'll use the road to shuttle *assen Peak. 2000' of climbing from the top of the road will buy you a 4000' descent down the NE face, which ain't too shabby.

Anyone else interested?

Edit to change campground. Summit Lake North won't be open.

I could be convinced to head up there for the long weekend... Anyone else from the Bay Area need a ride?

Shit came up and we can't pull it now. Bummed I haven't rode with SFtico or TEX yet this year.

Bummer, Eco... I was hoping you could make it up there with the lil' rippers in tow.

Ooops... I assumed incorrectly that the Summit Lake North campground would open along with the road memorial weekend. It won't. We'll have to move these activities to the appetizingly named Manzanita Lake Campground.

n00b to the site (storn, hit you up via your website earlier this week). I'm 90% certain I'll be there with ladyfriend in tow, and possibly one other couple. Probably only me riding though.

I think I will graciously decline this invitation. Have a great time folks, take some sweet photos (I don't need to ask, I know you guys will).
