I'm riding in Tahoe on Wed, anyone game? I'll be staying up there tomorrow night so I won't have internet. Call me on my cell xxxxxxxxx. Sweet, I'm easy--South, West, North.

I want to get avy savy before hitting up the tahoe backcountry on my splitboard and plan to take a 3 day avalanche safety class presidents weekend. all lodging I checked is booked solid and I am having a hard time finding a place to stay. I tried the CAl lodge, sierra club lodge, best western and holiday inns in truckee.
does anyone know of a place to crash so I can take the course? I would be glad to pay a little $$. it needs to be friday, saturday and sunday nights 2/16, 2/17 and 2/18. I have a 4x4 with snow tires.. willing to drive folks up and back from the sf bay area with me.
I have a sleeping bag, can do floor or couch, will buy beer, let me know of any ideas...

Mark - I took a 3 day avy I class last weekend. Don't know exactly the rig you have but I just bought a season snowpark pass for $25 and slept in my truck at the snowparks. Remarkably un-crowded Steve
Dunno what the situation is currently, but if you could get into one of those, you could put the money saved towards some lodging, or camp out in the car and have money to buy lots of beer.

Hey Tahoe Junkies - anyone going to be "sick" once this storm blows thru? Monday/Tuesday? I could share gas coming from South Bay. Probly need to day-trip it. Steve

hey, thanks for the update on sleeping in your truck during the avy class.. where is the snowpark? is the season pass good for parking/(staying) in your vehicle... or is that access to some innertubing hill?. I have an offer of a place to stay in auburn, but that will make for a rough commute 45 minutes each way in good weather.
