Good deal! We have some interested people, most with experience, and a mixed bag of splitters, tele, and rando (my fiancee is getting her first set up this winter-don't tell!).
Looks like we have a potential place to crash near mad river. I can't go too close to the resort though, I might burst into flames as a sinner !
Mt Washington huts and parking lots in VT near Mansfield will do in a pinch as well! As winter approaches I can hit up EMS in Portland ME and Hatley, MA for some ads of backcountry fest or whatever we're calling it.
Only requirement I see is: attitudes have to be checked at the trail head!
dont you mean Hadley, MA?? i comment cuz i live there.

You know I have had no luck ditching my attitude try as I might.
Perhaps the only requirement should be a wearing a beacon. ..oh wait how silly of me, WE NEED SNOW FOR THAT!
VT is looking pretty good these days, I'd like to get up there with some fellow splitters. I'm up for something safe in the Whites too. Gulf of Slides down to car is way fun, some stuff by the choo-choo is gnar. I don't understand this EC bc thing that popped up?? (ranting time)- Part of the problem is this forum, it needs a specific EAST COAST SECTION! hello, I can only take so much circus tent before I want to start drowning puppies. I mean enough already with the bigline xxx pornography, it's corrupting me. East coast posts on this forum are lost in an orgy of self glorifying continental powder teasers... I don't want to see it all the time! Moderators please, give us some space! where was I? oh yeah ...so we're all excited because because a few EC splittboarders have connected electronically! WOOO HOOO it's a festival!
How about we just try to randomly pick locations as the snow falls, post your idea, and see if a few of us can get together for some split adventures. I will try to frequent this forum more often.. but dang it's slim in here just like the snow outside.

Well Todd, Jay to Mansfield is pretty thick... at least getting thicker... A few friends our heading out to the Jay area tomorrrow morning...
Then, another group will be on Mansfield (w/ snowshoes) attempting a shot on Hell's Brook.
There is action on the EC... but there is so little powder that people are affraid they'll loose it... Snow is really reliable in the NEK... Sure we did wait a lot... but now the season as really begun... I'll try and post pics i receive from my friends riding both locations... In fact, Anne-Marie was the latest registered on this forum this morning.

Yes, you guys should have a good time up there, please do post some pictures to cheer me up. A Vermont trip is in my future when I can get away for a long weekend and the weather is favorable. It's a way long haul to Jay from here by the ocean, not a day trip. sniff sniff, I want snow in my backyard like it used to be in the good ol' days. whaaaaa!
We're hitting up Big Jay on Wed morning. looking for first tram or freezer. we don't mind an added person or two. bring a Motorola 2-way if you have one
