So, I did some research, bought some books, reserved a splitboard, and I'll be headed out to Portland on Wednesday morning... Anybody interested in Hitting Mt. Hood on Thursday or Friday? I'll be riding both days, and I'm open to other suggestions as well. I'm okay with the mountaineering aspects, and I'll have crampons and ice-axe if necessary, but it's my first time on a splitboard, so I'll probably be taking the up-hill portion of it a little bit slow. My source of route info is Van Tilburgs Backcountry Ski! Oregon. It seems to have some good info, the author is a snowboarder, and he knows what a splitboard is.
