Looking at the forecast, the next series of small storms is forecasted to only dust Tahoe but is calling for more accumulation at *assen.

Who know what will really happen, but if this plays out like forecasted, we're heading up there. Maybe car camp?

i might be up for that. how far of a drive is it from tahoe?

Bummer, can't make it this time. Definitely want to hit up Lassen next time though.

I'm likely going to Wawona with the fam but will get a short tour one morning. They're saying the snow level will be pretty low. Can you say riding through Giant Sequoias?

If you Mapquest it they tell you to go 89 all the way, but when you map quest to Chester, they say go to Reno, then up 395 to Susanville. Then west on 36. It's proabably a lot easier to go 395 esp. in snowy conditions.

that's a pretty solid drive. Where are you coming from?

I know, it's hard to justify when Rose is right out your door.

Is Rose pretty wind hammered now?

Could be worth it if there are freshies.

*assen sucks though, you probably don't want to go.

I haven't been out since sunday but I drive by it every day on my way into work and it doesn't look very good. There may be some north facing aspects still holding onto good snow but I'm not sure how likely that is.

I'd love to ride that this weekend, but that's normally a spring run.

We'd probably be riding this instead.

is that really the section you would be riding? Maybe it's just the perspective of that image but that looks to be a pretty short, flat run.
